The Sogetsu School
Among many Japanese flower-arranging schools, Sogetsu Schools is the most popular with more than 120 Branches and Study Groups in 38 countries and regions worldwide. The school was founded by Sofu Teshigahara in 1927. Sofu’s artistic genius lifted Japanese flower arranging from the traditional craft his father taught to a new art: sculpture with flowers.
The Sogetsu School encourages you to express yourself by being creative and artistic and teaching through time-honored Japanese art principles. The beauty of flowers is enhanced using strong, graceful lines, generous open space, individual or massed flowers, and thoughtful use of color.
Students may enroll in the Sogetsu Ikebana school in Japan through us and work towards obtaining diplomas. Whether you enjoy Ikebana without pursuing certification or studying for an advanced diploma, we welcome you! Once you reach the certified instructor level, you will be able to teach, and the certificate has global recognition.
